FIND AND CONNECT WITH GERMAN COMMUNITIES IN CANADA
The first German immigrants settled in Canada in the 18th century, and one of the oldest German settlements is in Nova Scotia on the Atlantic coast. Germans did not move to the west of the country until much later, but these days there are Germans in almost every major city in Canada.
Currently, there are approximately 171,000 Germans in Canada, making it one of the top expat groups in the country, and millions of Canadians claim German heritage. Germans are known for being hard working and have contributed greatly to Canada’s economy, with many starting their own businesses.
